Total population densities of phytoplankton were higher in coastal water and around the front, especially at depth, coinciding with the deep chlorophyil maximum. [...] Tintinnus inquilinus, Eutintinnus apertus, Tiarina fusus, Zoothamnium pelagicum, Globigerina, Sticholonche zanclea, Ceratium platycorne, Amphisolenia globifera, Planktoniella sol, Ceratium declinatum, Ceratocoris gourreti, Protoperidinium brochi, Podolampas bipes, Pyrophacus spp., Ceratium hexacnathum, Chaetoceros, Rhizosolenia alata, Rhizosolenia shrubsolei, Ditulum, Hemiaulus, Kofoidinium,Ceratium tripos, Gonyaulax polygramma, Dictyocysta, Dadayella, Codonella, Amphorella, Epiplocyclis [...] [ES] Se ha estudiado la distribucion del fitoplancton de red y de los tintinidos (organismos recogidos filtrando 10-20 l de agua a traves de una malla de 40 um de poro) durante tres campanas oceanograficas realizadas entre Barcelona y Mallorca y se ha relacionado esta distribución con la presencia del frente marino situdo entre la costa catalana y las islas Baleares.
