Meeting information needs on gender issues in aquaculture

What kind of information do aquaculture planners need to ensure that gender issues are taken care of in their planning? How can such information be collected? This document contains guidelines concerning both questions. The guidelines cover four areas: information needed for sector planning and project formulation at the macro-level; information required at the micro-level (which will be helpful for development interventions in local communities); monitoring and evaluation; and incorporation of gender issues in socioeconomic data collection. These guidelines are contained in four chapters. A more comprehensive set of information needs is found in tabular form in the two Appendices. These detail sources and methods of collecting the needed information, and the uses to which this information can be put.
