Préparation à l'utilisation des données SPOT 4/MIR pour l'étude de la remontée biologique du lac R'Kiz en Mauritanie

The spectral contribution of future SPOT 4/MIR data is tested in the frame of the sahelian areas cartography, for a better discrimination of this environment characterized by a low cover rate of the vegetation, and where the ligneous and arborescent strata are strongly overlapped. The study led to interesant results concerning the vegetation dynamic between 1987 and 1993 from SPOT images, which illustrated some limits in this context. The use of MIR spectra (simulated from LANDSAT TM) offers better results, especially for the cartography of low vegetation rate, and the moist soils discrimination.
