Reconocimiento in vitro de variantes somaclonales de porte alto en banano (cv. 'Gran enano', Musa 'AAA'). Respuesta a un tratamiento con GA3

The effect of an #in vitro# treatment with GA3 exogenous applications on the morphogenesis of normal stature banana plants and giant somaclonal variants was studied. Giant variant plants responded to the phytohormone showing an accelerated longitudinal growth. Likewise, a significant diminution root and foliar emission was observed in all plants treated with GA3. The limbs of such plants also presented a marked lanceolated morphology. The #in vitro# sensibility of giant plants to the gibberellic acid allows to employ this regulator to attain an early elimination of high stature variants.
