Esterase patterns of 60 isolates of Frankia from Casuarina equisetifolia growth in Senegambia
Casuarina equisetifolia is used in Senegambia to stabilize sand dunes along the Atlantic coast. It was introduced in this country at the beginning of the century. Direct isolation of Frankia from Casuarina equisetifolia root nodules collected from 6 different geographical areas within Senegambia was achieved using the nodule dissection technique. Sixty isolates were analyzed for their electrophoretic profiles and were classified into several groups according to their esterasic activities.
