Analyse morpho-structurale et diversité floristique des îlots de forêt protegés dan la plaine côtiere du sud du Togo

Vertical structure and floristic diversity of forest islands in the coastal plain of southern Togo have been studied. Eleven plant communities and five types of vertical structures could be described. Calculation of the Shannon indices shows that their floristic richness and diversity in the lower stratas (<7 m) are very important while highers (>I5 m) are floristically poor and less divers. Compared to other regional forests, the islands in the coastal plain of southern Togo are identical to those in the south of the Republic of Benin but are different from the forest types found west and east of the Dahomey gap
