Mycelial growth of three Cuban isolates of nematode trapping fungi Arthrobotrys spp. on coffee straw

The aim of this work was to determine the capacity of Arthrobotrys to colonize coffee straw. The mycelial growth of three isolates of Arthrobotrys spp. (isolates 25, 31 and 33) on coffee straw after five days, incubated at 25°C, was compared with the growth of the colonies on standard agar culture medium. Significant differences in the growth of the isolates in both media were registered. There were differences among the isolates on coffee straw medium. The highest growth was recorded in isolate 31.Significant differences in the growth of the isolates on potato dextrose agar were not observed.
