Plant parasitic nematodes associated with coffee crop (Coffea arabica) in Cajalbana, Cuba
Twelve nematode genera were found associated with coffee, of which Rotylenchulus and Helicotylenchus were the most abundant in the coffee rhizosphere, and Aphelenchus the most numerous in the roots. In general, the nematode populations were low, although great numbers of Rotylenchulus were detected in fields where the alternative host plant, Commelina diffusa was the most common weed. Only one female of Meloidogyne was located in the roots of coffee cv. Yellow Caturra growing in fields where large quantities of Pinus sp. litter had accumulated over the soils.
