Propagation of arabica coffee by micro cuttings
Results obtained from the experiments conducted to optimize a protocol for micro propagation of coffee using nodal explants are described. Multiple shoot production from aseptic nodal segments was recorded in about 44-74 percent of the explants. To overcome this problem and also to increase the supply of propagules for mass multiplication, simple and cost-effective methods are tested in this study. Besides the implication of these techniques, certain interesting observations on morphogenesis were also reported.
