Performance of proprietary mixture of chlorothalonil, copper and maneb in the control of bacterial blight of coffee and coffee berry disease in Kenya

A new proprietary pre-mix of Chlorothalonil + Copper + Maneb code named SDS 64220 was found effective at the rate of 0.7 percent in the control of Bacterial blight of coffee and Coffee berry disease during three consecutive years of evaluation in two different sites. The performance of SDS 64220 (0.7 percent) was comparable to that of Kocide 101 (0.7 percent) in the control of both diseases and in yield. Sprays of SDS 64220 at a lower rate of 0.4 percent were inferior in the control of Bacterial blight. The product has now been recommended at the rate of 0.7 percent for dual control of Bacterial blight of coffee and Coffee berry disease in Kenya
