Irrigation effects on vegetative growth of coffee
In Hawaii coffee is dormant from December to February and water is critical for spring vegetative growth. Some 40-50 cm tall seedlings of the arabica cv. Typica, grown in pots in a saranhouse (32 shade), were subjected to several irrigation regimes (1-7 times/week). After 4 weeks no significant differences were observed in stem diameter, leaf area, leaf dry weight and stem dry weight in plants watered 2-7 times/week. (Hort. Abst. 57(1):821. 1987)
