Results of field trials of seven fungicides in coffee show that while three give significant control of leaf rust, five maintain leaf populations significantly higuer than controls. It is suggested that the fungicides are controlling some other fungal cause of premature leaf fall, and that this cause might be Colletotrichum coffeanum Noack
