Observacoes preliminares sobre o emprego de herbicidas na cultura do cacaueiro (Theobroma cacao L.)
The objective of the present work was to test isolated or associated herbicides, according to their way of action, in a cacao plantation in the region of Ilhéus (CEPLAC), Bahía. The soil of the experimental area belongs to the CEPEC unit. The essay had 6 treatments: Gramuron (in dosages of 7,0; 9,0; 11,0; and 13,0 kg/ha); Gramuron + Roundup (at dosages of 7,0 kg + 3,5 l/ha; and a check. The experimental design was the randomized blocks, with 4 replications. Herbicides were applied by means of a teejet 110.03, with a preassure of 40 pounds per square inch. The evaluation was made 140 days after application. From the results obtained, the following conclusion could be drawn; the treatments Gramuron (11,0 and 13,0 kg/ha) and the treatment Gramuron + Roundup (7,0 kg + 3,5 l/ha) showed acceptable control of broad-leaved and narrow-leaved plants that infest cacao plantations.
