Five new neotropical Dasyhelea midges (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) associated with culture of cocoa
Five new species of Dasyhelea midges are described from material reared from rotting cocoa pods and other plant materials in Brazil, Panama and Trinidad: borgmeieri, cacoi, soriai, williamsi and winderi. The two most common of these species, borgmeieri and williamsi, have been taken at flowers of cocoa where they are important as pollinators.
