The black pod disease of cacao, a review of the situation in Ghana
The extent of the incidence and damage caused by Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.) Butl. on cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) in Ghana has been reviewed. Control measures have been discussed in relation to the epidemiology of the disease. While at present, cultural practices offer the best means of control at economic rates, the need is felt for evolving a cheaper, more easily applied and more efficient control measure agains this economically important pathogen
