Meiotic studies in four species of the genus Cuscuta, subgenus Grammica (Cuscutaceae)

The genus Cuscuta comprises holoparasites plants; the following four species of Northwest Argentina C. globiflora, C. parodiana, C. cristata and C. grandiflora, which belong to the subgenus Grammica, were cytologically studied. Their chromosomes are monocentric and meiotic studies have shown regular behavior with few abnormalities. Three species are diploid one is tetraploid, their chromosome numbers vary among from n = 14, 15 and 28 chromosomes; pollen viability was determined.
