Pollen morphology of Rebutia haagei y Lobivia pygmaea (Cactaceae: Cactoideae)

García, María E.; Nora J. F. Reyes; Nora B. Muruaga. 2012. “Pollen morphology of Rebutia haagei y Lobivia pygmaea (Cactaceae: Cactoideae)”. Lilloa 49 (2). Argentina is represented by 21 species of Lobivia; Lobivia pygmaea is one of them and it involves about 26 synonyms, such as Rebutia haagei. These species differ between them regarding to their morphology, environment of living and geographic distribution. The aim of this work is to analyze pollen characteristics of both entities to provide data that contribute to improve their knowledge. Pollen samples were collected in different mountain localities of northwestern Argentina. Results show that the pollen grains are: apolar or isopolar, large, pantocolpate, rare tricolpate and also they differ in the distribution of colpi, size and arrangement of perforations and nanoespinules. The study provides information that later will help verify the position of R. haagei.

Muruaga. 2012. “Morfología polínica de Rebutia haagei y Lobivia pygmaea (Cactaceae: Cactoideae)”. Lilloa 49 (2).
