School and lifelong learning: Interskola-Conference 1979. Lectures and group reports

The aim of the Interskola-Conference (Düsseldorf, 21-27 July, 1979) was to identify changes schools have to undergo to motivate students for lifelong learning. Focusing mainly on the situation in the Federal Republic of Germany and Scotland, topics of the lectures given include: the role of the school in lifelong education, learning opportunities after formal schooling, the role of community schools in adult education programmes, communication between school and students/parents/community, legislation problems, access to higher education, and problems of minority groups.
