Sociological aspects African migration and human settlements

Africa is the continent for migration par excellence.Apart from migration by nomads, which is encouraged by the pastoral way of life, especially in the Sahara and the Sahel , those areas of human conveygence, it has since the fifteenth century been crossed in various directions by a number of large population movements, especially from north to south, from east to West. Cases of forced migration, imposed by fire and sword, cases of voluntary migration followed one after another, many and varied but all motivated by economic, political, religious, security reasons, population growth leading to saturation of areas of settlement and cultivation.
