ASCAT wind quality under high subcell wind variability conditions
16 pages, 6 figures, 5 tables.-- The ASCAT Level 1b and Level 2 data are provided by EUMETSAT, and are accessible from http://www.osi-saf.org/. The software used in this paper was developed through the EUMETSAT NWP SAF. The ECMWF data were retrieved from the ECMWF MARS archive http://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/datasets. The buoy data are obtained from http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/ and cover a wide range of networks: NDBC moored buoys, TAO, PIRATA, and RAMA buoy arrays
