Manual for Visual Assessment of Forest Crown Condition
With the primary aim of assessing the effects of air pollution on forests, ICP Forests provides scientific information to the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) to fulfill legally binding protocols on air pollution abatement policies. For this purpose, ICP Forests developed a harmonized monitoring approach comprising a large-scale forest monitoring protocol (Level I), as well as forest ecosystem monitoring (Level II).
