སོ་ནམ་པའི་ ཉིན་དེབ། Farmer's diary

The Farmers’ Diary is an initiative to help farmers maintain correct and regular records of different activities of an enterprise and its related costs. It would ascertain the true costs of each farming enterprise and help in informed decision-making and improving farm business profitability. The Farmers’ Diary of FSAPP is simple and can be used for any annual crop, be it vegetables or cereals. It is divided into six sections. The first is the record for inputs used in the production of a crop. Inputs would include, but not limited to, seeds and seedlings, fertilisers, farmyard manure, pesticides, weedicides, crates, bags etc. The quantity of each input with its corresponding unit and price must be recorded. The second section is to record the labour days, draught power days, machine days or hours by activities and its corresponding wage rate or prices. The third section is to record the production figures. Unlike cereals, some crops, especially vegetables may not be harvested at once and the production figure from each harvest of a crop will have to be recorded. The fourth section is regarding the expenses incurred for marketing such as transport and labour costs. The fifth section is about the quantity sold at different times and the prices obtained while the last section portrays the net income earned from an enterprise.
