Gender Assessment along Poultry Value Chain

South East Asia continuously faces challenges and threats of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). While the number of outbreaks has gradually declined, there has been rapid evolution and emergence of new HPAI virus strains and clades, accompanied with wider geographical spread. During the past several years, lessons have been learned with respect to HPAI risk pathways and challenges in control, allowing us to collectively gather evidence to be able to formulate and pilot possible approaches for Avian Influenza risk mitigation. In response to the need of using and applying the collective evidence of the past years, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Australian Government supported FAO’s efforts towards risk management with the project “Evidence-Based Risk Management along the Livestock Production and Market Chain”.
