On the traces of the herbal tea, rooibos: The origin of a South African heritage?

Afrikaner farmers domesticated rooibos tea at the beginning of the 20th century, but the questions of the origins of rooibos remains. While it is often asserted that the San discovered rooibos, it is not c1ear whether the origin of this belief is based on faets rather than the desire to promote different traditions. In this way, this produet has progressively gathered various local cultural identities which have led to consider rooibos as part of the national cultural heritage.
