Year of the Donkey celebrated
1990 is the Chinese Year of the Donkey and it will be marked by a world conference organized by Dennis Fielding of the Centre for Tropical Veterinary Medicine in Scotland. The International Colloqium on Donkeys, Mules and Horses in Tropical Agricultural Development will take place from September 3-61990, at the University of Edinburgh, UK. Subjects for discussion include; economic and social importance; numbers, location, and distribution; case studies of projects; nutrition and roughage ublizahon, environmental and reproducbve physiology, breeds and breeding; health and disease; use for work, carrying and pulling; general husbandry and management; research and extension priorities.
