Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba 8Costa Rica), 2007 El presente trabajo se realizó en Turrialba, Costa Rica en el ensayo de sistemas agroforestales de café (Coffea arabica var caturra) con sombra de poró (Erythrina poeppigiana), amarillón (Terminalia amazonia), cashá (Chloroleucon eurycyclum). Se estudió el comportamiento productivo de cafetos bajo diferentes condiciones de sombra y manejo, al mismo tiempo que se evaluó el desarrollo de las especies arbóreas a través de variables silviculturales en los diferentes tratamientos. El mayor rendimiento promedio por años en la Producción de café se observó en los tratamientos convencionales, encontrándose cambios de rendimientos de café a lo largo de los años los cuales variaron significativamente entre los manejos. Los manejos orgánicos mostraron muy bajos rendimientos en el comienzo de la primera cosecha pero se incrementaron conforme avanzaron los años, logrando rendimientos aproximados a los manejos convencionales. The present study was conducted in Turrialba, Costa Rica in the coffee (Coffea arabica var caturra) agroforestry systeMON trial with poró (Erythrina poeppigiana) shade, amarillón (Terminalia amazonia), cashá (Chloroleucon eurycyclum). We studied the productive behavior of coffee plantations under different shade conditions and management as well as the evaluation of the growth of tree species (poró, amarillón and cashá) through silvicultural variables in the different treatments. The higher mean average yield of coffee was observed in the conventional treatments, observing that yields varied significantly over the years amongst management practices.
