Contribution a l’étude écobiologique et biochimique du crabe "Carcinus aestuarii " dans la région nord de Sfax

The main objective of this work is to study some biological aspects of Carcinus aestuarii Northern Sfax (biometry, reproduction, diet), and biochemical contents (water, protein, minerals, and fat). Analysis of metric characteristics of Carcinus aestuarii allowed us to determine the nature of the allometry between the width and différent parts of the body of the crab. For reproduction study, analysis of monthly changes in the gonadosomatic index (GSI) shows that the spawning period of Carcinus aestuarii North Sfax occurs from October to January. The analysis of monthly variations of the hepatosomatic index (HSI), shows that this species used the hepatic reserved to the maturity of gonads. The analysis of monthly variations of the sex-ratio shows that the females were predominant. Indeed, the sex-ratio is 62.97 for females. The size at which 50% of the population reached maturity was 34.56 and 43.93 mm CW for females and males, respectively. In this study, biochemical analysis in Carcinus aestuarii North Sfax shows a high water content and low fat content. Indeed, the water content is 72.28% was determined by the deshydratation of fresh sample in an oven at 105 ° c for 24 hours. The protein content, determined by the method of Kjeldalh , was 11.88%.The mineral content is 12.45% was determined by the method of calcination of the sample. The fat content is of 1.64%, was determined by the technique of Soxhlet Direct
