On feeding of the vimba bream in the Paernu River and Paernu Bay
A revue of feeding of vimba bream Vimba vimba size groups in the Paernu River and Paernu Bay (Baltic Sea) is presented. Seasonal changes in feeding of the species are described. In spring and autumn Macoma baltica dominates in its food. At the end of April and in early May the fish consumes smelt eggs. In summer the vimba bream of Paernu Bay lives mainly on Corophium volutator intensely reproducing in this time.
