Information relating to variousaspects of the biology and ecology of the Nile Perch, especiallyin its non-endemic habita. was sought. Special emphasis'waslaid on a study of the food and feeding habits of the species to try and follow' its long term effect on other fish species especially in Lake Victoria. Sampling of commercial catches and recording of biometric data ,t Masese fish landing continued for most of the year. Stomaches were collected and food contents later examined in the laboratory. The work on Lake Victoria was encouraged in the later part of the year due to rare occurrence of Nile Perch specimens in both commercial catches and experimental trawl on our research vessels
