IODE National Report for Italy
OGS-Oceanographic Data Centre is active since early sixties. Data archive is devoted to the Mediterranean Seas and cover mainly physical data. Recently, also bio-geo-chemical data are managed due to the participation of OGS within interdisciplinary projects. The data base contains more than 6,000 hydrological stations, more than 1,500 current meter time series in 200 different points, up to 63,000 wave measurements and sea level and meteorological parameters along the Mediterranean coasts.
