Сравнительный эксперимент по мечению речной камбалы в восточной Балтике

In 1975 BaltNIIRH at the research vessel "Mazirbe" and IfH at the research vessel "Eisbar" conducted joint tagging of flounder in order to compare the efficiency of tagging methods. According to BaltNIIRH method yellow polyethylene pendant tag is attached to flounder body by nichrome wire, according to IfH method red celluloid pendant tag is attached to gill cover by perlon thread. Each side tagged 1000 flounders. During two years the return of tags in separate series was considerably different, in the range 9—19 %. About 70 % of the difference in the return is explained by combined influence of two factors: heightened mortality of flounders because of the fishery process before tagging when bigger (heavy) trawl was used and by heightened loss of tags during operations with catches on fishery boats when tag is attached to gill cover by free loop. The brightness of tag color also considerably influenced the return.
