Introduction to IODE’s QMF and quality management examples by some local oceanographic institutions.
International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE), which is a program of UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, has been playing a role of promoter for secondary use of oceanographic data for more than 50 years. At the 22nd session of the IODE Committee in March 2013, IODE established the “IODE Quality Management Framework( QMF) Project” in order to improve the quality of distributed oceanographic data. In this report, we introduce this IODE-QMF project and some examples of data quality management implemented by several foreign and domestic oceanographic institutions.
