Site selection for development cage culture in Mahshahr Creeks

This study was carried in Mahshahr area creeks (Khoor-e.jafari, Khoor.e.Dowraq, Khoor-e-Moavi, Khoor-e Ghazdeh, and Khoor-e-Ahoadi) for one year Water quality and its' pollution climatic condition, bottom characteristics, depth. Fouling organisms and planktons were studied, Results showed that oxygen and nutrient level. pH, turbidity water temperature and salinity in all the studded creeks were more or less the same and are suitable for aquatic lite, Except in Khoor-e oude (eh. heavy metal contents in water and sediments were in acceptable levels range, Sediment type in Khoor-e-Jafari showed the highest silt-clay fraction, while it was the lowest in '010:or-e-Pat11- The most important limiting factor in some points of the study area was depth creeks. Jafari, Patil Dowraq and Moavi creeks are suitable for establishment of cages, in all their length, in Ghazaleh and Oude/eh creeks. Only the first hatf their length could be recommended, bhere as only the first one third of hanam and creeks are suitable for cages. Planktonic blomms were observed in onty one instance. Another limiting factor in fouling or anisms, their highest occurrence being in spring (May).
