Mapeamento temporal da cobertura da terra do EcoMuseu do Cerrado, Goiás, através do uso de imagens do sensor MODIS.

ABSTRACT - Savannas are the main vegetation type in Central Brazil, covering approximately 23% of the national territory. The development of studies to understand its dynamic and to keep its diversity is fundamental. Moreover, the land cover dynamics in this vegetation type demonstrate an intensification of agropastoral systems, wood extraction and land degradation processes. The peculiar physical conditions and severe historical anthropogenic pressure have caused extensive natural vegetation losses, increasing soil erosion, burned area and biological diversity reduction. Thus, the scope of the paper is to analysis MODIS time series behavior of the savanna. The study area is located in Cerrado Ecomuseum in Central Brazil. The results demonstrated that the savanna presents a typical NDVI series behavior, with higher values in the raining season and lower values in the dry season.
