"Tennessee Red" is a Valencia-type peanut, Arachis hypogaea subsp. fastigiata var. fastigiata, with erect growth habit, flowers on the main-stem and typically more than two red seeds per pod. Valencia peanuts have their most important center of variation in Paraguay. Their diffusion outside South America was relatively late.
