A Novel Grape Downy Mildew Resistance Locus from Vitis rupestris
This study represents the QTL mapping efforts for downy mildew resistance in grapevine using a wild V. rupestris x V. riparia F1 mapping family. Genotyping by sequencing was used to generate genome wide SNP markers based on the APEK1 restriction sites in the grape genome. Curation of raw data through alignment to the published grape genome, and subsequent quality filtering, resulted in a core set of markers in this family. A genetic map was produced and the phenotype of downy mildew resistance was assessed for QTL.
