Influencia da altitude e da ocorrencia de chuvas durante os períodos de colheita e secagem sobre a qualidade do café procedente de diferentes municípios da regiao sul do Estado de Minas Gerais

Coffee yield like a perennial planting will be successful partly depending of the plantation areas selections according previously established climatic maps. The present work showed that based in a survey taking place in fourteen counties of South Region of Minas Gerais State, Brazil, are implanted between 700 and 1000 meters of altitude, and the quality was not affected by the localization of the plantation in altitude classes among this limits. Otherwise, it was verified that mostly of the counties presented a very large period of harvesting and drying coffee, which when hastended will present unacceptable coffee harvested in green maturation stage and when delayed to the months of September, October and November will expose the fruits to rainy period with deterioration risks of the harvest fruits.
