Genotype-environment interaction and heritability of yield in Coffea arabica L

Genotype-environment interaction was studied in five Coffea arabica varieties grown in replicated trial in three locations and yield data collected for five seasons. Overall pooled analysis was not possible. Pooled analysis over years was possible within two locations and variances due to varieties, years and varieties x years interaction were significant in these. Weighted analysis was followed for the remaining location. Varietal mean yields different significantly at the same two locations for which pooled analysis was possible. Estimates of genetic variance and heritability were higher in the high yielding location than in the poor yielding one. The importance of this study in varietal selection for adaptability in coffee is discussed
