Search for optimal adsorbents for decaffeination processes by calorimetric investigation

The use of isothermal and scanning adsorption calorimetry to determine the "caffeine specific surface area" of adsorbents, some brief theoretical considerations and the experimental set up are described. For one exactly defined charcoal the surface area was determined: A = 151 m2g-1 (scanning measuremnts); 134 m2g-1 (isothermal measurements)
