Results of field experiments, Ruiru, 2: Effects of inorganic fertilizers and their application methods on Coffea arabica L yields and quality in Kenya
Effects of straight nitrogen fertilizer with compounds NPK fertilizer when ground and/or foliar sprayed on coffee yield and quality were compared at Ruiru, Kenya. Significantly, higher yield was obtained by application of 134 kg/ha nitrogen than the lower rate of 67 kg/ha nitrogen particularly when part (about 33) of it was foliar applied as complete NPK fertilizer. Application of part of the annual fertilizer treatments as foliar sprays, especially the compound NPK fertilizer improved the percentage of grade "A" beans
