Domatia and leaf epidermal characteristics in relation to pollen morphology in Coffea L
Grouping and re-grouping of the genus Coffea L. has been done based on macromorphology, geographical distribution, pollen morphology and flavonoid analysis. Since no one criterion can definitely resolve the taxonomy of the genus, additional information on other aspects was sought. In the present study an attempt has been made to use the presence of domatia (commonly found in all members of Rubiaceae). Twenty species were studied and compared with earlier work. Suggestions are made for future lines of investigation
