Synergism between biosphere reserves and training institutions a case study from Eastern Africa
Regional technical training institutions can play an important role in biosphere reserve management both through training activities and in operational exercises carried out in demonstration areas. The potential role and benefits of involving the College of African Wildlife Management. Mweka, in Tanzania in the Lake Manyara Biosphere Reserve are discussed. An action plan leading from initiatives in a typical developing country is presented. Both conservation and training goals would be achieved if funds can be found to implement this plan.
