Epidemiology and control of Brucella melitensis in Italy

Brucellosis is probably the most important zoonosis in Italy. It is also the most frequently reported disease of sheep and goats. The prevalence in the human and animal populations are strongly correlated. The Italian ovi-caprine Brucellosis control program is discussed. Several problems are defined and suggested solutions proposed
