The following three aspects are discussed: competition between Euterpe and Guilielma as a heart of palm crop, in which the prospects seem better for Guilielma; competition among heart of palm industries, in which quality and diversification of industrial products will play a major role, and expansion of the market, which has barely been tapped and has great potential if properly promoted.
